As a result of competitive bids received from selected general contractors, Kalleward Group was awarded the contract to construct the new Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Division of The Dana Corporation. This new facility is located in the new KVCC business park at 9th Street south of I-94 in Texas Township.

The building was constructed as a result of the acquisition of the Heavy Axle and Brake Division of the Eaton Corporation by Dana. The facility was designed by Normand & Associates and was fashioned after the main headquarters of Dana in Toledo, Ohio. The new 150,000 square foot facility is home to Administrative and Engineering Offices as well as a state-of-the art Research, Testing and Design facility.

Construction started with soil densification in October, 1998. The office portion of the facility was occupied in November, 1999 and the Research and testing portion of the facility was occupied in May, 2000.
