The Getman Corporation is a global supplier of mobile production and production support equipment to the mining industry. Kalleward Group provided Construction Management services for the conversion of a metal fabrication manufacturing space into a 93,000 square foot Getman mining vehicle production facility in Kalamazoo, MI. The state-of-the-art production features a 21,000 square foot fabrication area with 6 frame fabrication bays and 8 tac fabrication bays, a 30,000 square foot vehicle assembly area with 18 assembly bays, 27,000 square feet of parts and materials warehousing space, custom blast and paint booths, and a new vehicle test track. The facility’s air, gas, electrical, sewer, and fiber optic systems were all upgraded to handle expanded operations. Additionally, offices, locker rooms, entrances, and common spaces were constructed to enhance the work environment of Getman employees. The renovation was completed with all new landscaping and signage. The project took place over 9 months and was carefully planned to minimize disruptions to ongoing operations.
Project Scope: Kalleward Group provided Construction Management services necessary for the Renovation of the Getman Corporation’s Bangor Headquarters to meet the needs and demands of their growing operation. Project durations was 4 months and construction took place without disrupting sensitive operations.
