The Kalleward Group was incorporated in 1963 as a general contractor specializing in churches and schools. Through hard work and obtaining an excellent reputation that scope of project types expanded to include manufacturing/ industrial, non-profits, commercial, and government. We continue to offer general contracting services as a delivery method. With this delivery method, the owner/client typically engages an architect to complete the design and then selects Kalleward Group to complete the construction.
Typically the general contracting (GC) delivery process follows three successive steps; design, bid, and build. However this delivery method can be adjusted to accommodate your specific needs. We will meet with you, learn about your project, your needs and wants, and then develop a plan to best meet those and achieve a successful project.
A benefit to our owners with the GC delivery method is that Kalleward Group has a long history of self-performing services. We regularly self-perform selective demolition, concrete, steel, carpentry and architectural trades work for new and existing facilities, as well as maintenance contracts. As a self–performing contractor, we have the skills developed through a deep knowledge of understanding how things are constructed.
Construction Managers vs. General Contractors
Construction managers are typically on the project from design to completion. However, there is no licensing that governs this position. While we are general contractors performing all of the duties of overseeing and hiring subcontractors and managing processes throughout the build, we take our responsibility a step further. We believe strongly in the benefit of working on each commercial project from conception. Our owners’ representative services are robust, with the goal of giving you the freedom to take a step back from the day-to-day, knowing that an individual with your best interests is in control.
